David W. Ricks, DVM
David
W Ricks, DVM grew up in Houston, Texas. During his childhood
he was heavily involved with athletics. He received a
scholarship to play baseball at Alvin Junior College in
Alvin, Texas. After a year at Alvin, he transferred to Texas
A & M University were he completed his undergraduate work
and received degrees in Biomedical Science and Veterinary
Science. He then attended the College of Veterinary Medicine
at Texas A&M University and graduated in 2001.
After graduating, he spent
two and one half years in Apex, North Carolina practicing in
a large animal clinic. The clinic was primarily equine,
however he gained some experience with cattle and other
large animals. He moved to Harris Equine Hospital in July of
2003 where he pursues his interest in equine reproduction
and surgery.
In what little free time he
has, he enjoys woodworking and flying. He received his
pilot’s license during the summer of 1999.
