Cortney E. Henderson

Harris Equine Hospital, Inc.
is proud to announce the arrival of Dr. Cortney Henderson
and his wife, Cara, to Whitesboro TX. Dr. Henderson will be
our staff surgeon and lameness clinician.
Dr. Henderson was raised in
Amarillo, TX. He completed undergraduate and veterinary
school at Texas A & M University. He then completed a
hospital internship at the world renowned Rood and Riddle
Equine Hospital in Lexington Kentucky. Following his stay at
Rood and Riddle he finished a three year ACVS residency
program in equine surgery at the Marion DuPont Scott Equine
Medical Center, in Leesburg, VA. At this facility, Dr.
Henderson was actively involved in teaching veterinary
students and worked with horses of many disciplines
including hunter jumper, eventing, dressage, steeplechase,
flat racing, and western performance. During this time, he
also attended graduate school at Virginia Tech University
and obtained a Masters of Science degree, conducting
research in equine laryngeal MRI and equine upper airway
functional disorders. His veterinary interests include
arthroscopic and orthopedic surgery, equine laryngeal
surgery, lameness of the performance horse and colic.
Again, we are excited to have
Dr. Henderson join our staff in efforts to improve and
expand our surgical and lameness services. Please feel free
to stop by and meet Dr. Henderson at any time. Both being
native Texans, Cortney and Cara, say they are excited about
being back home in Texas with their families and working
with Harris Equine Hospital.
